Sorty has no servers and no account system, so your files and folder data never touch the developers. The only party that ever sees anything is the AI provider you choose — and only file contents, only if you switch on Deep Scan.
Sorty can't leak what it never receives. With no backend, the app and its developers have zero visibility into your files. Cloud AI providers only see contents when Deep Scan is on — your call, every time.

Sorty has no backend. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing phones home. The developers literally cannot see your files, your folder names, your activity, or anything else — because none of it is ever sent to us.
Only your AI provider sees anything
To build a plan, Sorty sends file names and metadata to the AI provider you choose. File contents are only ever shared if you explicitly turn on Deep Scan — and even then, contents go directly to your provider, never through Sorty.

No. Sorty only moves and renames files into folders — it never deletes anything. Nothing happens until you review the plan and click apply.
Yes. Every organization run is recorded in History, and any run can be fully reversed with one click — even days later.
Never to us. Sorty has no servers and no accounts, so the developers can never see your files or anything about them. By default only lightweight metadata (file names, types, sizes, dates) is sent to the AI provider you choose. File contents are only ever shared if you turn on Deep Scan, and even then they go straight to your provider. Pick a local model and nothing leaves your Mac at all.
Sorty works with major cloud providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Mistral, and with local models through Ollama. You bring your own key or run locally — Sorty does not resell AI usage.
